Revenue
The amount of money your business received for borrowing a good or service
Pre-Tax Income
The amount of money your business earns (revenue minus expenses) before deducting income taxes. Also known as Pre-Tax Profit.
Officer Compensation
The amount of actual compensation (wages, bonus payments, perks and other tax deductible discretionary payments on behalf of the primary owner operator) paid to the primary owner operator. Distributions (return of capital) should NOT be added here as they should already be reflected in the Pre-Tax Income entry above.
Interest Expense
The amount of interest expense paid by a company on various types of loans, credit card balances, etc.
Non-Cash Expenses
Expenses which did not require the use of cash in the current period. Customarily these items include only amortization and depreciation expense.
One-Time / Non-Operating Expenses / Losses
Unusual and non-recurring expenses such as office renovations, losses from the financing of operating assets, and expenses not related to the core operations of the business. Does NOT include typical operations, sales and administrative expenses. Any amount entered here will raise the amount of earnings and increase the company’s value.
One-Time / Non-Operating Revenues / Gains
Revenue from unusual and non-recurring sales, such as the financing of a patent, gains from the financing of an operating asset (e.g., a delivery truck), and revenue not related to core operations of the business, such as investment income. Does NOT include gains from typical operations and sales. Any amount entered here will lower the amount of earnings and decrease the company’s value.
